NUMIX Awards: a Virtual Live Event

With my folks at Float4 I created a very special type of virtual live event for the NUMIX DIGITAL CREATIVITY AWARDS. We integrated volumetric capture and live video-conferencing technologies into a real-time 3D environment. The event presenter was physically at our office but appeared as and RGB point cloud in our 3D environment. For this we developed a very efficient telepresence technique using an Azure sensor and a blend of softwares including UNITY and TouchDesigner. The result of this exploration turned to be a unique kind of virtual live event that has the flavour of a real life event where visitors can engage and interacts with each others. This was also delivered in less than one month.
