For 32 years Niagara’s Annual Winter Festival of Lights has attracted visitors with artful, traditional and festive-illuminated displays.
In 2016, Ontario Power Generation asked Christie 360, in collaboration with Westbury National Show Systems, to bring the Festival into the 21st Century with a large-scale collective experience. The idea was to bring people together and tell the story of Niagara Falls, Canada, in a compelling way.
With the natural wonder of the Falls as a backdrop, the team worked to conceive and produce content for the 12-minute signature show. The Oakes Hotel, overlooking the Falls, was the canvas for eight HD Christie Roadster S+22K-J 22,000 Lumen projectors. “The Spirit of Niagara” showcased the power of large-scale projection mapping to tell a compelling story and helped increase festival attendance, taking Niagara Falls to a new level of excitement.
